Located on the southwest spit of Pelee Island, twenty-five kilometres from the mainland, it may be reached by passenger and vehicle ferries which leave from Kingsville or Leamington.

A gray stone tower built in 1833 is all that remains of the long-abandoned lighthouse which is located on the northern tip of the island. Relight the Lighthouse Committee has been established with a long term goal of complete restoration.
